The Faculty of Biosciences wishes to condole with the family of Prof. Festus Aghagbo Nwako, first Vice-Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Paediatrics of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Prof. f. A. Nwako was an erudite scholar and a member of many professional organizations including the West Africa College of Surgeons. He was a Senior Ford Foundation Fellow at John Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
Prof. F. A. Nwako was a great administrator, a versatile scholar, deeply religious. He was enterprising and would always carry his workers along. he had a listening ear and was endeared to all by his winsome smile. He had an open-door policy and made himself a servant of all.
He was popularly acclaimed for the feat of separation of Siamese twins. He will be missed by all especially his family, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the Medical Community and the Country at large. May his gentle soul rest in the Lord. Amen.
