The study was on adolescents’ appraisal of parental influence on their adjustment level. The population of the study was all the students of Senior Secondary One(SSI), of Government owned secondary schools in Anambra state, Nigeria, totalling (13,967). The sample size was made up of 1000 senior secondary year I students from the state, Simple random sampling technique was used to compose three out of the six Education zones in the state from where the sample size was draw. Four research questions and four null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The research instrument used was a questionnaire titled (APEP), made up of 53 items structured on a four-point scale with ranges varying from very great extent to very low extent. The collected data were analysed using aggregate scores, Mean scores and standard deviation tables. The hypotheses were tested using t- test and at 0.05 level of significance. The Endings revealed that the adolescents are not satisfied with their socio- cognitive adjustment and that their parents did not contribute optimally towards their socio-cognitive adjustments. Consequently, the adolescents in appraising their socio-cognitive adjustment levels rated their academic self-concept, social relation and self-image to be poor, low and negative, respectively. They also rated the contributions of their parents towards their academic self-concept, social relationship and self-image to be of low extent. Based on the findings and their implications, the recommendations include: parents should be conscious of their primary obligations towards education and upbringing of their children and parents should avail themselves of all necessary opportunities towards being informed about their responsibilities towards their children. Stakeholders in learning should also encourage effective means of creating awareness on parental responsibilities using forum such as conferences, market as well as religious and community gatherings.
