This work deals with the role of the United Nations in the Israeli- Palestine crisis from 1948-2010. It tries to provide a guide for thorough assessment of the role of the United Nations in the protracted crisis between the two bellicose neighbors. The unfolding complexities in the age-long crisis are quite worrisome, threatening the peace of the entire region and have drawn the attention of the whole world. The unrestrained Israeli military aggression and the Palestine counter offensive measures have led to massive loss of lives and properties and give the impression that the actors are determined to fight to finish. After analyzing the actions of the UN it is clear that despite its attempts it has not succeeded in bringing an end to the crisis. Also, its role has been usurped by the meddling of the United States. The paper tries to proffer some recommendations to the UN in order to bring lasting peace to the region.
