Every nation sets out her educational goals in terms of relevance to the citizens and societal needs in accordance with the realities of the environment and the modern world. In Nigeria, the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in music education is yet to develop to a reasonable level. Music education is a viable part of the school curriculum and should be designed to meet the needs of the students and the society at any point in time. It is important that music educators utilize the benefits inherent in information and communication technology in music teaching and learning. This paper sets out to find out the place and purpose of information and communication technology in the teaching and learning of music in Nigeria. It looked at the problems militating against the incorporation of ICT in music education and it suggests strategies for technological advancement in music education in Nigeria.
