This quasi-experimental study sought to identify sex differences in the effects of the Indigenous Communicative Method (INCOT Method) on students’ acquisition of Oracy skills in French and their interest in and attitude to the language. The study was guided by two null hypotheses and was carried out on 60 students of Urban Junior Secondary School Umuna, Orlu in Imo State of Nigeria. The experimental and control groups were taught for 6 weeks in 2 intact classes of 30 students, 15 boys and 15 girls each.A French Oracy Test (FOT) and an Affective Response toFrench Scale (ARF.\) were administrated to the subjects, before and after the treatment. The data collected were analyzed with Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). It was found that male and female students performed equally well in the Oracy skills, as well as in their interest and attitude. The paper recommends that the teacher using the INCOT Method needs to identify the communicative activities that appeal to both male and female students, and use them effectively for the benefit of all the members of the French language class.
